Adding product manually is ok if you have only a few items. In case, there are 100s of products, using CSV to import them will make task easy. The Retail POS product template is attached with this article. It is a pre-formatted templatethat includes all the relevant product information that can be captured in Retail POS.
To fill this template, we will need:
Name of the products
Any variantions like size, colors, and models
Retail prices of the product including tax if the store displays price inclusive of tax else exclusing tags
Supply prices of the products
Existing Barcode/SKU numbers
The exact names of the taxes you have set up in Retail POS

Update the file and import it by navigating to Catalog >> Products in the sidebar and click Import button. Here you can upload the file and after this Lightspeed will perform a check to make sure columns match. If there is any unmatched columns, you can fix them by selecting the correct column from the drop-down menu.
Once this is fixed, click Continue with import. Once the import is complete, you will get notifications from the bell icon at top right. If any of the products are ignored for some reasons, it will provide you with the ignored products CSV. Download the file and update the field as per the reason mentioned in it.
