Lightspeed X Series | Converting quote to a sale

Quotes in the Lightspeed X Series allow you to give customers a formal price estimate for their purchase before committing to a sale. Once the customer approves the quote, you can quickly convert it into a sale—streamlining your workflow and avoiding manual re-entry of product details.

This article will guide you through the steps to convert an existing quote into a completed sale, ensuring a smooth and efficient transaction process.

Why Convert a Quote to a Sale?

  • Eliminates duplication: No need to re-add products or customer details.

  • Tracks customer journey: Easily follow the status from quote to sale.

  • Improves efficiency: Speeds up the sales process, especially for repeat or high-value orders.

  • Supports on-account or layby payments: Process payments as per the customer’s choice once the sale is created.

Important Notes:

  • Once converted, the original quote is marked as converted and cannot be edited.

  • The sale will now appear under the Sales History tab for record-keeping.

  • Quotes that are not converted remain accessible for future conversion or cancellation.
